We stayed at Gindabara over the Easter long weekend with our whole family — adults and kids of all ages — and it was fantastic.
It’s so rare to find a place where everyone can stay together while still having their own space, but this property delivered perfectly. The layout is excellent, with spacious cottages and shared areas that made it easy to come together or enjoy some quiet time. Everything was comfortable, well set up, and thoughtfully fitted out.
The property itself is large, private, and well maintained, with a peaceful, tucked-away feel — perfect for a relaxing getaway.
We made some amazing family memories and couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend the long weekend. We’re already looking forward to visiting Coochiemudlo Island again and staying at Gindabara — highly recommend for large families or group getaways!

Gindabara was the perfect setting for our group stay. Private, spacious, and relaxing grounds. Lots of options to sit together for group activities and lots of private spots for some self-care time.

The units are clean and comfortable and are well maintained. All close enough to easily access the common areas, but far enough to have privacy.

Despite the Island being a short distance off the mainland, crossing the water and then being in such a private spot makes it feel you are a world away.

The team at Gindabara was wonderful. We will certainly return.

… Accommodation was fantastic for our large group of multiple families. So much room to spread out. Individual cabins are well equipped and have fans and aircon as well as bathrooms and kitchenettes. … Carolyn made checkin very easy and late checkout is a bonus. Beautiful, spacious grounds

Gindabara is a fully-fenced retreat, set on one acre of beautiful land, a 5-minute stroll to Morwong Beach.

When you book Gindabara for your island group stay or family holiday you’ll get plenty of space for kids — and the young-at-heart — to play, or perhaps just relax if that’s what you choose to do.

A room with two twin beds with white bedding, each with a towel rolled at the foot. Between the beds is a wooden nightstand with two black lamps, a small white clock, and a decorative ball. There are two windows with green blinds, one above each bed, letting in natural light.

Sleep up to 14 people in comfortable double or twin rooms in Gindabara’s four cosy cottages.

Our large, homely Main Hall includes a kitchen equipped to cater for an army! There’s also a barbeque, laundry facilities, and Games Room.
